Ipswich Uncovers the Secret

We are in the midst of planning the next fair on 27th July in Colchester, however we couldn't resist a bit of a look back at our last event in Ipswich on 29th June- we loved every minute of it (as we always do)!

Finally, we would like to announce that we raised a grand total of £227 for our supported charity of the event- St Elizabeth Hospice.  Thank you to everyone for their donations and support.  And thank you to the volunteers from the charity who helped with the raffle and manning the door.

Preview: Saturday 29th June

The time is drawing near for this Saturday's Secret Vintage Fair in Ipswich Masonic Hall, and so we thought we would whet your appetite with a bit of a preview of the event and let you know what you can expect (if you have been to our fair's before you will have an idea, but we like to make sure it is different every time!)

The Venue

We're hosting the fair in the historic and atmospheric Masonic Hall, 8 Soane Street, Ipswich, opposite the entrance to Christchurch Park. 

Entertainment

Joining us at the fair we have some amazing and talented vintage inspired performers: The TestostaTones, The Uke Lady and the gypsy jazz duo Mando du Maroc, interspersed with the dulcet tones of DJ Sukie and her vintage set.

Shopping

We have a stalls ranging from vintage fashion, to retro art and design... and everything in between.  You will see some of regulars there, plus new faces.  And we vet every trader to make sure that only the finest quality traders sell at our fairs, and we ask our traders to offer an exclusive deal only for Secret Vintage Fair customers, so you may just grab yourself a bargain!

Goody Bags

Once again we are offering the first 25 people through the door VIP goody bags, including a selection of vintage and retro goodies, the bags are beng provided by Boutique 65, with contents being contributed form a variety of traders- including LegoMonki, Amelie Rose Jewellery, Mary Lu Vintage, What's Your Tale Nightingale and more.

Charity and Raffle

As you are probably aware by now we are supporting St Elizabeth Hospice for this fair, through a proportion of door fees and by the charity raffle.  This time round we have had some amazing raffle prizes donated by traders and local businesses alike- see the facebook album for full details but here is a taster of one of our donations- a LegoMonki clock that retails for around £15.

So now you know what to expect, get up early, get glammed up and we shall see you at the fair on Saturday!

Delicious homemade refreshments will be available all day from the Secret Vintage Pop Up Tea Parlour and the first 25 people through the door get a VIP goody bag including vintage and handmade goodies from our traders.

Secrets of the Summer Solstice

The Summer Solstice is here and on the longest day we bring you (after a long wait) the revelation of the secret location of the next Secret Vintage Fair.  It is to be held at Ipswich Masonic Hall, Soane Street, Ipswich, IP4 2BG, opposite the entrance to Christchurch Park. The building is, in keeping with all our fairs, full of character and heritage,within easy access from the town .

Not only do we have the finest vintage, retro and craft purveyors over two floors; the day will also include a full programme of live music from the acapella five-piece The TestostaTones, to the Uke Lady and the gypsy jazz duo Maroc du Monde and a mentalism act, plus the vintage DJ extraodinaire- DJ Sukie. As with all Secret Vintage events we have a vintage tea parlour, this time provided by Tilly's Vintage Tea's.

The Secret Vintage Fair takes place on Saturday 29 June 10.00 - 16.00. 

Entrance is only £1.50, and accompanied children under 10 get in free.

Narrowing it down..

We are so excited to be taking The Secret Vintage Fair further afield to the Essex/Suffolk borders on Saturday 29 June that we can't resist revealing just a little part of the secret... so we can tell you that it is taking place in Colchester's near neighbour just across the border- Ipswich.

We are incredibly excited to be heading to Ipswich: a town full of history, vintage and beautiful buildings.  As always we are supporting a charity with a proportion of door proceeds, and we have chosen St Elizabeth Hospice. St Elizabeth Hospice improves life for people living with a progressive illness, as well as their friends, families and carers. A full post on the work of St Elizabeth Hospice do will follow in the coming weeks.

The traders applications are in, the posters are coming hot off the press and the entertainment is in the pipeline, and we now look forward to bringing Ipswich our unique recipe for vintage fairs very soon!  Now we've narrowed the area- can you guess the venue?  One more clue- we are always central and always in a appropriate building for a vintage fair.
